DSA

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is an executive agency of the Department for Transport (DfT) and is part of the Driver, Vehicle and Operator (DVO) group.

The Agency's aim is to promote road safety through improving driving standards, testing drivers, motorcyclists and driving instructors fairly and efficiently through the theory test and practical driving test; maintaining the registers of Approved Driving Instructors and Large Goods Vehicle Instructors, and supervising training for learner motorcyclists.

DVLA

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) for License & Tax information. The DVLA is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport (DfT).

The Agency is accountable to the Secretary of State and Ministers and, through them, to Parliament and the public, for efficient and effective management of the Agency and its responsibilities. Our primary aims are to facilitate road safety and general law enforcement by maintaining registers of drivers and vehicles, and to collect vehicle excise duty (car tax).

What can I expect from becoming a driver instructor?

Once you have successfully completed our driving instructor training course you could be earning the equivalent of between £20,000 and £40,000 per year plus a company car.

We train and employ instructors as franchisees this is not guaranteed a position but there are plenty of driving schools looking for good instructors for them to join.
